By Mon Baturiano, Jr.

As a continuation of the first two series of symposia earlier sponsored by the University of San Carlos Office of Population Studies Foundation, the Bicol Regional Symposium of the 3rd Series of Symposia on Population and Development is slated in Naga City on July 29, 2006 at the Arrupe Convention Hall in Ateneo de Naga University.

The symposium initiated by the Catholic colleges and universities in the Bicol region is done in collaboration with the Philippine Center for Population and Development (PCPD) and the Institute on Church and Social Issues (ICSI).

“Free of charge to the public, the symposium aims to stimulate concern and desire to initiate population and development-related programs to pave the way for an active interest in producing modules for sex education in the family and school in line with the basic human and Christian values,” said Dr. Cristina Lim, the Bicol Regional Coordinator of the popdev symposia.

Among the panel of experts and discussants include Dr. Alejandro N. Herrin of the UP Diliman School of Economics, Fr. John Caroll, SJ of the Institute on Church and Social Issue of ADEMU, Ms. Jowena T. Mañalac of the Institute of Reproductive Health Philippines Foundation and. Fr. Peter O. Pojol, S.J., an S.T.D. Candidate in Moral Theology of the Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Caceres Archbishop Leonardo Z. Legazpi, OP, DD, Ateneo de Naga University president Fr. Joel E. Tabora, SJ, Aquinas University president Fr. Ramonclaro G. Mendez, OP, and PCPD Executive Director Dr. Felicitas Rixhon graced the event.

For its part, the city government of Naga is actively promoting in partnership with the local catholic church various population and development programs through its multi-sectoral Naga City Natural Family Planning Council.

The city’s population and development programs and activities are ably implemented by the City Population and Nutrition Office headed by its award-winning chief, Ms. Teresita “Baby” del Castillo.

I’ve received e-mail from my acquaintance with invitation to Harkness Private Foundation investment program, I’m investing since 2002 in different HYIP and small investment projects, and I would like to receive some general feedback from anyone who’ve used HPF’s services, and received payment (s) thanks.
